Pink Floyd "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" Syd Barrett Tribute
Just something simple for people to put on their MySpaces, etc. This is the version from the old VHS tape of Pulse (which IMHO had much better camera angles than the new DVD). The beginning and one verse from the middle (at 6:13) had to be edited out to fit it into YouTube’s 10 min. requirement. But the whole movie they showed at the concert is here since it’s probably supposed to represent Syd’s life (or anybody’s)…. This is from Earl’s Court, London in October of 1994.

Really good song; but the Floyd never knew how to begin or end a song, the intro should have been 1 minute max…soulless warbling on the guitar; Hendrix could have put some feeling into an intro like that, but Gilmour is so bland, just get to the good bit!!! (on Wish you were here it is even worse the song is 15 minutes!!!!!)

Epic….?? What?? An epic would progress musically, it is the blandest soulless 10 minutes of guitar playing ever…it goes nowehere, sounds like my stoned 14 year old nephew’s mindless twinkling.
And you should read their biograpies they were all stoned, that is why so many of their songs drag on senselessly. Give me the edit version, I want to be entertained, or at least inspired musically. The kernel of a great song is there, and probably sounds great if you are on drugs or do not play.

Ever heard the song The Great Gig In The Sky? That song trips the shit out of you high. All of their songs on Dark Side of The Moon are amazing songs. All of them contain an essence that breaks the barrier of the thc induced mind. I love Pink Floyd, and I’m not going to NOT say anything to a comment like this, so fuck you. That’s a very disrespectful thing to say. You don’t go and accelerate your emotions to the point where you bring your hatred down on others. I have two things to say: One is that you really need to learn how to mature your opinions and express your dislike in a manner where you can give reasons why you don’t like this.
